The “Destination of Excellence” Award

Ajouter aux favoris

The “Destination Ile de Ré” Tourist Office, established on 1 January 2016, was awarded its first Qualité Tourisme™ label on 12 December 2016.

In August 2026, Destination Ile de Ré was awarded the new “Destination d’Excellence” label!
✔️ 98.95% in the quality category.
✔️ 91.83% in the environmental sustainability category.

In the ‘customer service’ category, dozens of mystery tests were carried out (in-person, by telephone, via email, and via both human and AI chatbot), in French and English as well as in Spanish and German. HugoLeRobot (AI chat only when we’re closed) also passed the tests successfully! Mystery visits to our in-person reception took place on 5 June.

In total, more than 194 criteria were audited across the Tourist Office’s services (reception, website, publications, strategy, promotion/communication, shop/ticket office, HR, sustainability, certification of services/labels, observatory, quality, etc.).

The “Destination of Excellence” award!

The new ‘Destination of Excellence’ label aims to raise quality standards across the entire tourism sector whilst incorporating more environmentally friendly practices: accommodation, catering, places of interest and leisure facilities, tourist information centres (including tourist offices), transport…

It has now replaced the ‘Qualité Tourisme’ label since May 2024.

Do you have a complaint, a suggestion or a word of thanks you’d like to share with us?

As part of our commitment to the continuous improvement of our services – and, more broadly, to enhancing the quality of the visitor experience on the Île de Ré – complaints, verbal comments, suggestions and words of thanks from our visitors are a real goldmine of information.

All this information is processed, analysed and reported:

  • Directly to the businesses, local authorities and services concerned by the complaint,
  • To the management of the tourist office during the monthly quality reviews held by the Destination Île de Ré tourist office,
  • At meetings of the Destination Quality Group, comprising service providers representing the economic and tourism sectors on the Île de Ré, elected representatives, members of the management team at the Destination Île de Ré Tourist Office, and its quality manager.
This group meets at least twice a year to discuss any issues encountered and identify areas for improvement. It serves as a genuine forum for dialogue and exchange between local businesses, local authorities and the tourist office.
  • In our activity reports, which are freely available and shared annually with local authorities and partners on the Île de Ré.
