Les Portes-en-Ré is celebrating on 14 August – come and join in the various events taking place in the village.

All day Lantern sale by Portes en Fête on Place de la Liberté. 9.30 pm Torchlight procession, starting from Place de la Liberté – Street performance by Caixa-ça. This group is the Île de Ré batucada, bringing together musicians of all ages, united by a shared passion for rhythm and celebration. More than just a percussion group, they are a cheerful bunch of enthusiasts who share their energy, friendliness and good humour through festive and lively Brazilian rhythms. 10.15 pm Fireworks over the communal marsh. 10.30 pm Dance party in the car park of the Salle des Marais de la Prée until 2 am with DJ Chris – Refreshments provided by the Firefighters’ Association and a food truck serving crêpes and chichis
