At the entrance to the Île de Ré, Nina Métayer has created an exceptional establishment where pastries, breads and cakes showcase the flavours of the region, combining seasonal ingredients, hints of the sea and world-renowned expertise.
Nina Métayer, originally from La Rochelle, began her apprenticeship as a baker in 2007 at Chez Paillat. Deeply attached to her Charente roots, she maintains a strong connection with the region where she grew up. The Île de Ré is a natural extension of this.
With her bakery and patisserie in Rivedoux-Plage, at the entrance to the island, she is realising her wish to become an integral part of the local community of shops open all year round.
This establishment offers her signature creations, recognised with the titles of World’s Best Pastry Chef 2024 and World Pastry Chef 2023.
Here you’ll find Viennese pastries, patisserie, artisan breads and savoury options, as well as a cosy café and tea room.
The products draw on local ingredients: seasonal fruit, fleur de sel and hints of the sea. Whether you eat in or take away, it’s a place that has become part of everyday life on the island, as if it had always been there.
