Why is the Ile de Ré a favourite destination when it’s hot?
An unspoilt oceanic climate
Thanks to its geographical location, the climate on the Ile de Ré is tempered by the Atlantic Ocean. The sea breezes reduce the heat peaks, with temperatures often 5°C lower than on the mainland.
In August, maximum temperatures generally fluctuate between 24°C and 27°C, with cool nights (16-18°C).
Suitable landscapes and activities
Between beaches, pine forests and shady villages, the island offers a multitude of natural spaces in which to cool off and recharge your batteries.
