Description
This summer, Festi’Cabanes is coming to Île de Ré!
What’s on the program?
Oyster tastings and a DJ set: Sept 11th
The perfect opportunity to explore the oyster huts that are members of the APHRÉ, meet the people who keep this local tradition alive, and enjoy a festive time together!
FESTI’ CABANES: OYSTER FARMERS WILL KEEP YOU DANCING ALL SUMMER LONG!
For the first time ever, the Île de Ré Oyster Association is organizing Festi’ Cabanes! This unique event combines oyster-farming heritage, a friendly atmosphere, and music at several tasting huts across the island.
From June through September 2026, a series of DJ set evenings will take place at various huts belonging to APHRÉ (Association of Oyster Producers of Île de Ré). Starting at 6:30 p.m., locals, tourists, and lovers of local products are invited to come together around a simple concept: enjoying oysters and seafood in a festive atmosphere, accompanied by local DJs, from 6:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Introducing the oyster huts to a new generation
Through the Festi’ Cabanes, the Île de Ré Oyster Association aims to promote the region’s tasting huts and attract a younger audience to these iconic landmarks of Île de Ré’s heritage. Whether facing the ocean, nestled in the marshes, or located in the island’s oyster-farming villages, each evening will offer the chance to discover a different oyster hut and meet the oyster farmers who keep this local industry thriving day in and day out.
