Introduction to water rescue techniques
The Ré Jeunesse department is organising an introductory course in sea rescue on the Île de Ré. This course is open to all young people aged 13 to 17.
3 objectives:
• To introduce them to first aid,
• To introduce them to careers related to sea rescue,
• To introduce them to water rescue techniques.
The course will include visits to rescue stations on the Île de Ré, participation in sports and water-based training sessions with SDIS 17, a visit to the whale semaphore station, and meetings with various organisations involved in rescue work (SNSM, Junior Lifeguard, ACRS and CUNSE rescue dogs).
The course will run for the full day (9am–5pm) and will accommodate 16 participants. The meeting point will be at the La Flotte youth centre, Espace Bel Air, Route de La Noue.
Advance registration is required. The cost of the course varies between €16 and €30 depending on whether the young person is already a member of Ré Jeunesse.
It is essential that the young person can swim.
The registration deadline is Wednesday 10 June inclusive.
