Description
Night of the stars organized by Ré Nature Environnement in Sainte-Marie-de-Ré
Ré Nature Environnement invites you to join the ‘Night of the Stars’ event, led by two science guides.
Every Wednesday evening (weather permitting), come and discover the starry sky over the Île de Ré.
Jean-Luc Fouquet and Xavier Plouchart, two experienced astronomers, will take you on a magical evening that combines models of the sky in the first part, followed by telescope observation.
You’ll discover the secrets of the models with Jean-Luc, the zodiacal constellations, the rotating sky map, and how to tell the time in the middle of the night. Jean-Luc will explain all this to you with great enthusiasm.
As night falls, it will be time to observe the sky with Xavier. From constellations to nebulae and star clusters, right down to their colours, the night sky will unfold before your eyes.
It’s also an opportunity to photograph the Moon directly through the telescope using your smartphone (on evenings when it’s visible, of course).
Young and old alike, it’s open to everyone—whether you’re curious or a keen enthusiast—so please do join us to marvel at the vastness of our Universe and gain a better understanding of astronomy in a fun way.
