Description
Come and see Nicole Doray’s sculptures at the Salle de la Chapelle.
Nicole Doray invites you to discover her world through her exhibition of animal sculptures.
A few words from the artist and an introduction:
‘For the past 27 years, I have drawn inspiration from wildlife and the species that inhabit our planet. Fascinated by observing animals – particularly mammals and birds – I seek to capture their demeanour and presence through sculpture. Each piece is born from the time spent observing, travelling and immersing myself in their natural habitats.
With this exhibition, I want to share this perspective and simply highlight the importance of preserving these species and their habitats. I work with clay, fired using the raku method, which allows me to play with materials, textures and nuances that mirror the natural world.
For me, wildlife art is a way of staying connected to nature, of conveying emotion and, at times, of inviting reflection on its fragility. Whether it is a marine mammal or a bird on its nest, each sculpture is an encounter, a moment of observation frozen in clay.”
