Heritage Days - [Lecture] The Île de Ré Heritage Inventory: An Introduction to the Study of Bois-Plage-en-Ré

In partnership with the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region, the Île de Ré Community of Municipalities relaunched a large-scale inventory project in 2026 to better understand and promote the heritage of the Île de Ré. Following a presentation on the history and objectives of the General Inventory of Cultural Heritage, Sébastien Chauvel will explain the study’s methodology and the various stages of the project, from data collection to the dissemination of results. The presentation will then focus on Bois-Plage-en-Ré, where the study is set to begin shortly. Gain an initial overview of the town’s history, its urban development, the main types of houses, and some notable architectural features. The event will conclude with a Q&A session with the audience.
