A brand-new exhibition at Fort La Prée, focusing on the siege of the Île de Ré! It traces the armed conflicts that took place on the island during the final Wars of Religion, 400 years ago.
To mark the 400th anniversary of Fort La Prée and as part of its project to commemorate the final Wars of Religion, the Community of Communes is staging a unique exhibition at this historic monument, dedicated to the siege of the Île de Ré (1627). Lasting 45 minutes and accessible to all, it explores the military challenges, religious rivalries and political strategies that characterised this period, whilst revealing how art helped to shape the memory of this decisive period in the history of the Île de Ré.
