Where to practise naturism on the Île de Ré: tolerated areas and rules to know

Discreet, bright and unspoilt, the Île de Ré also welcomes naturists to clearly identified areas. To ensure everyone’s peace and quiet and to preserve the island’s natural balance, nudism is strictly regulated. Here are the beaches where naturism is tolerated, the areas concerned, and the rules to be aware of in order to enjoy the ocean with complete peace of mind.

Naturism on the Île de Ré: a regulated practice

On the Île de Ré, naturism and nudism are not permitted everywhere. They are tolerated only on certain sections of beach, defined by municipal by-laws and signposted on site.

This regulation aims to encourage a peaceful sharing of natural spaces, with respect for local uses, families and the environment.
