Relive 400 years of history!

It is the oldest military fort on the Ile de Ré. Built in 1626 under the reign of Louis Xlll to consolidate royal power on the island of Ré against the Protestants of La Rochelle, it was occupied by the German army during the Second World War and even transformed into a vacation camp! Opening times: April, May, September and All Saints' Day vacations: 10am - 6:00pm June, july and August: 10am - 7pm Closed on Saturdays in April and during the All Saints' vacation. From mid-May to the end of September, we give way to our newlyweds from Friday morning to Monday at 2.30pm. Guided tours at 4 p.m. on opening days (booking recommended). Duration ≈ 1h15. Ticket office closes 45 minutes before total site closure. Throughout the summer, come and discover the fort's adventures with your family thanks to summer activities such as the treasure hunt!!!!
