Description
To mark the opening of the new skatepark in La Flotte, the Wipe Out association, in partnership with the local council, is organising a day of festivities and cultural activities on Saturday 20 June, with the aim of bringing together local residents, young people, urban sports enthusiasts, and representatives from local community and cultural organisations.
The day will begin at 2 pm when the site opens to the public. Throughout the afternoon, the skatepark will be open for free skating in a friendly, music-filled atmosphere. A food area featuring a food truck and refreshment stand will be set up in the car park, alongside an exhibition of skateboards.
At the same time, artist NUTE will be creating a piece of art, highlighting the artistic and cultural aspects of the world of urban sports.
At 6.30 pm, the public is invited to discover the show “What we talk about when we talk about skateboarding, or how I became a dancer” by the FLUO Group. This choreographed and spoken-word show, with a touch of autobiography, is aimed at teenagers (of all ages). It will explore skateboarding, but also dance, the spirit of challenge and conformity.
From 7 pm, a “Best Trick” session will be held across two disciplines: street and bowl. This friendly competition, hosted by Barty from the 3’6 Trip collective, will allow participants to showcase their creativity and technical skills in a welcoming and spectacular atmosphere.
The awards ceremony will take place at 8.30 pm. The top three in each category will receive prizes donated by the event’s partners: customised boards for the winners, Bizarre Skateboards clothing, and various items of equipment provided by Sirocco Skateshop.
