Description

Jules Verne Conference
The team at Librairie Quillet is pleased to invite you to another evening dedicated to Jules Verne. This Friday, May 15, at 6:00 p.m., Jean Demerliac will return to Librairie Quillet to introduce us to a new side of this extraordinary author. Jules Verne: Maps as Writing Tools... Much has been said about Jules Verne’s love of maps, but strangely, never about maps as tools for writing books. Using *Around the World in Eighty Days* as an example, Jean Demerliac invites us to place the map at the heart of the composition of the *Extraordinary Voyages* to shed light on one of the writer’s most original facets. A lecture exploring how Verne wrote his books using maps and itineraries, thereby covering the entire globe without fear of writer’s block.
