Our favourite spots for admiring the sunset on Île de Ré!

  • Sainte-Marie-de-Ré, on beaches such as La Salée and Montamer
  • La Couarde-sur-Mer, on all the village’s beaches, such as Peu Ragot
  • Le Bois-Plage-en-Ré, along the beaches and on the wooden promenade at Plage des Gollandières
  • Saint-Martin-de-Ré, on the harbour or at the top of the church bell tower (depending on opening times)
  • La Flotte, along the coastal path towards the Abbaye des Châteliers
  • Ars-en-Ré, in the Fiers d’Ars and from the Pointe de Grignon beach to the Phare des Baleines lighthouse
  • Saint-Clément-des-Baleines, at the historic lifeboat station, on the Côte Sauvage and Conche beaches
  • Loix, at the edge of the salt marshes
  • Les Portes-en-Ré, on all the village’s beaches, such as Plage du Petit Bec and Lizay

Remember your camera!

Sunsets on the Île de Ré are not only a visual delight, but a truly sensory experience, where the sea air, the sound of the waves and the ever-changing light combine to create a moment of pure relaxation.

Whether you are a photography enthusiast or simply in search of serenity, these magical twilight moments are not to be missed during your stay on the island.
