L’A.N.C.R.E. Maritaise stands for Art, Nature, Culture, Research and Fish Locks (écluses). It comprises four recognised naturalist, environmentalist and heritage associations.
Located next to Plage de Montamer in Sainte-Marie-de-Ré, L’A.N.C.R.E. Maritaise is open from Easter to the end of October.
L’A.N.C.R.E. Maritaise is made up of three local associations (ADEPIR, Ré Nature Environnement, Les Tardigrades) and one national association (the League for the Protection of Birds (LPO)).
Together, their aim is to raise visitors’ awareness of the island’s biodiversity and conservation measures.
The associations organise permanent and temporary exhibitions, nature visits, guided tours of the fish locks, conferences, shows and workshops, etc., to immerse visitors in the unspoilt nature of Île de Ré.
