Remembrance work, presentation of the arts and traditions of the Île de Ré, attractive events accessible to all.
An ecomuseum dedicated to the maritime history and traditions of the Ile de Ré. A visit full of island flavours on 4 exhibition levels:

- origins of the island and remains of the Abbaye des Châteliers (12th century), traditional activities: agriculture, fishing, oyster farming (model boats).

- The history of the island, including the history of headdresses, costumes, Charentais interiors with period furniture, and a fine collection of photos of the people of Rétais taken at the beginning of the last century.

- Ré-continent maritime links (from ferries to bridges)

- temporary exhibition: ‘Loisirs en Ré, 1850-1939’ (Leisure in Ré, 1850-1939)

- children's area (games, colouring, books).

- museum brochure in French and English.

The Musée du Platin also offers guided tours and events:

> The museum is open :
- April to June and September to October: Monday to Thursday, 10am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 5pm and Friday, 9.30am to 12pm and 1pm to 4.30pm.

Closed on 21 April and Thursdays 1 and 8 May.

Groups of 12 or more can book all year round.
