On the Île de Ré, in an exceptional location on the banks of the Fier d'Ars and the Prise de la Lasse, the Salt Marsh Ecomuseum invites you to discover traditional salt farming through exhibitions and guided tours of a working salt marsh.
From March to early November, the eco-museum invites you to discover the history of salt farming and the production techniques used in the Ré salt marshes.
An exhibition followed by a guided tour of a working salt marsh reveals how it works, the journey of the water from the sea to crystallisation, and the tools and methods used in this age-old profession of salt worker.
