When spring arrives, the island of Ré becomes a veritable field of exploration for nature lovers. March also marks the return of the“Les P’tits se réveillentfestival, which offers a wide range of activities for the very young.

Nature outings and a breath of fresh air

In March, the senses are awakened and nature slowly emerges from its winter tranquillity: the landscapes take on soft hues and the vegetation is reborn. This is the ideal time to take part in the nature outings organised on the island: a springtime walk in the salt marshes, discovering the species of the foreshore or a birdwatching tour of the nature reserve and observation of migratory birds.

For the more sporty, the first edition of the Les Pieds Salés race, organised by the Le Saunier Rétais association, will take place on Saturday 28 March 2026!
A warm, family atmosphere is guaranteed for this 7 or 14 km nature run through the heart of the salt marshes. It’s the perfect opportunity to combine sport with discovering the island’s salt-growing heritage!

15th edition Les P'tits se réveillent Festival spring cultural awakening

March also sees the return of the Les P’tits se réveillent festival, a cultural event dedicated to young audiences and families. From 7 to 14 March 2026, live performances, creative workshops, musical moments and artistic encounters punctuate the programme in different villages on the island.

A festival for all the family

Accessible from the age of one, the programme of this festival for young audiences promises moments of emotion and discovery around art and the awakening of children.
Over the course of a week, come and meet the guest artists, and share some great moments with the whole family, at La Maline or in the various towns and villages in the region.
