Le Barrot Sud invites you to discover a salt marsh in Portes-en-Ré through friendly guided tours and outdoor drawing classes, giving you the chance to take the time to observe and understand a unique landscape on the Île de Ré.
Le Barrot Sud welcomes you to the heart of the Portes-en-Ré salt marshes in a preserved natural environment.
→ During guided tours, discover how the salt marshes work, the water cycle from the sea to the ponds where the salt crystallizes, and the work of the salt worker throughout the seasons. Depending on the time of day and weather conditions, you can watch the harvest of coarse salt or fleur de sel and try out the salt worker's tools.
Duration of the tour: 1 hour - 1 hour 30 minutes.
→ Come and enjoy a creative outdoor experience in the heart of the marsh. Each session follows a theme and format (postcard, bookmark, comic strip, mini comic book, etc.) to reproduce the landscape in your own way. Several media and techniques are available: drawing, watercolor, gouache, acrylic, pastel, ink, etc. The theme and technique are explained at the beginning. Accessible to all, beginners and experienced artists alike.
Duration of classes: approximately 2 hours.
▲Good to know:
For guided tours, wear comfortable shoes suitable for natural paths (no heels, etc.).
For drawing classes, materials are provided on site, but you can bring your own drawing materials (sketchbook, pencils, pens, or other personal materials).
⌂ Tours are accessible to all audiences.
