Family campsite full of charm in an exceptionnal site at the end of the island of Ré for a relaxing and exotic holiday

Exceptional location on Île de Ré, at the foot of the lighthouse Phare des Baleines, with direct access to the wild beach. The campsite Les Baleines welcomes guests in a classified natural site – EU Ecolabel Certification – for ‘away-from-it-all’ and relaxing holidays. No swimming-pool, no late evening entertainments – you will enjoy peaceful holidays.

With your family and friends, discover the Atlantic Ocean and numerous bike rides on perfect cycle paths that will lead you towards typical markets in summer or at the heart of salt marshes.

You will enjoy the spacious camping pitches, mobile homes and super lodges (tents) and tiny houses for Glamping holidays. Your privacy will be protected.
Dogs are allowed all season for pitches and only in May June and September in some accommodation. Our campsite, sanitary facilities and accommodation are cleaned with green products respecting your health and our environment.

Available to guests: a new Zen garden with a henhouse, pétanque court, table tennis, children’s play area, bike hire, laundry (€), fresh bread, ping-pong table, wireless area, social games and wooden games.

Since 2006, our campsite is recommended by "le guide du routard" and we are a member of the Charter of Ré'sponsile Actors, committed to a CSR approach since 2023.

For Séverine and Bastien, protecting nature is of the utmost importance, and a veritable philosophy of life.

For us, it's up to our campsite to adapt to its environment, not the other way around.

Our site is exceptional and remarkable, and we are committed to protecting it. This also means taking numerous actions to reduce water, energy and waste consumption.

At Les Baleines, everything we do is designed to protect the environment: whether it's the origin and absence of hazardous treatments for the materials used in our homes, the quality and local origin of the products used in our groceries and breakfasts, or the choice of cleaning products that do not contain harmful chemicals but carry environmental labels such as Ecolabel Européen or Écocert.

We are committed to promoting and enhancing biodiversity, the heritage of the Ile de Ré and the circular economy. To this end, we have forged partnerships with Icycle, a structure for integration through economic activity, and with the LPO (Ligue de Protection des Oiseaux - League for the Protection of Birds), and we offer nature outings in high season to raise awareness among our holidaymakers.

Our environmental approach is recognized by several labels and certifications:
Qualité Tourisme - Écolabel Européen (certified since 2018) - 1% pour la planète - Accueil vélo.
We launched a CSR program in 2023 and are aiming for the LUCIE CSR label in 2024.

A campsite with the "Accueil Vélo" label located on Loop 1 - North. You will find all the facilities and services to welcome cyclists: secure shelter for storing bicycles, water jet and brush available for washing bicycles, restaurant on site, concierge service, repair kit on site, possibility of renting bicycles on site, etc.
