Every Tuesday from February 24 to March 31, 2026 (excluding school vacations), Ré Jeunesse organizes workshops for 11-15 year-olds.
Following on from the Do it yourself (November-December) and astronomy (January-February) workshops, Ré Jeunesse, the Communauté de communes' "teen" service, is organizing a series of workshops devoted to improvisational theater.
Held every Tuesday evening from February 24 to March 31, they are open to all teenagers on the Ile de Ré, aged 11 to 15, whether beginners or experienced improvisers.
Free of charge, they do not require membership of "Ré Jeunesse".
SESSIONS PUNCTUATED BY SEVERAL EXERCISES
For just over an hour, participants will try their hand at several exercises: warm-up, mini-games on diction and public speaking...
This is followed by exercises relating to the "scenic" aspects of the practice (building a story, representing imaginary objects...) before performing, in groups, scenes in total improvisation.
GOOD FOR SELF-CONFIDENCE, ELOCUTION AND CREATIVITY
While there's no script to memorize, participants will need to mobilize a host of other skills...
"Improvisational theater is very good for self-confidence. You work on your diction, your ability to listen to others and your creativity. It's very stimulating and allows you to free your emotions".
Mallory Le Floch, head of the Ars-en Ré teen center,
a former "improviser" and the main organizer of these workshops*.
* One workshop will be run in partnership with the local company "À guichet ouvert".
