List of birds on Ile de Ré, observation periods

Consult below and/or download the list of birds on the Ile de Ré and observation periods! 🐦

This list takes into account the 343 species seen on the island of Ré (as of August 16, 2016), as well as those observed offshore from the coast (by two weeks of each month).
Characteristic subspecies identifiable in the wild have been added.
The species obviously escaped from captivity were discarded (flamingos, marabouts, parrots, parakeets, mainates, …).
Confirmed naturalists or amateurs, do not hesitate to transmit your observations on the participative site of the LPO: www.faune-charente-maritime.org

 

A February 2014 inventory initiated by the intercommunality also lists:

 

41 species of butterflies observed. The Serpoon Azure, a European endangered species.

28species of dragonflies are represented on the island, green, red, yellow, and even black with the Large Stigma Leste, living in brackish marshes and the most threatened of all.

 

🐸 The southern tree frog,
The newt,
The Cultipede Pelobate, a rare, endangered toad found on the island of Ré in the Lizay forest,
The Lizard of the Walls, Green Lizard, Aspic Viper, Green and Yellow Snake,

Small mammals such as the hedgehog and the hedgehog
Small mammals such as the European hedgehog,
8 species of bats,
Red squirrel,
🐰 Rabbits and foxes.

Estran: 395 species including 153 new, 84 floral species and 95 mollusk species including 12 new. This does not mean that they did not live there before but that they had never been recorded.
