Bus route 150

Bus route 150 (La Rochelle <>Ile de RĂ©) is operated by OCECARS for the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region. It serves all 10 villages on the island and runs all year round.

The main stops in La Rochelle are:
Gare routiĂšre (Gare SNCF): bus and train stations
AĂ©roport: La Rochelle-Île de RĂ© Airport
BelvédÚre: Le BelvédÚre car park near the bridge (La Rochelle side)

During the summer season, bus routes 151 and 152 are added due to the increased number of visitors on the island.

Due to the Île de RĂ© Triathlon taking place in Saint ClĂ©ment des Baleines, the ‘Phare des Baleines’ and ‘Grand Fossé’ stops will not be served on 13 June from 5.00 pm. The nearest stops are Salorge or La Conche.

  • Bus tickets and payment methods

    Tickets can be purchased on board. It is not possible to reserve a seat in advance.

    • Single ticket: €2.50. Return ticket: €4.50. Free for children under 4 years old.
    • Bus route 150 passes are available for a week (€18), month (€45) or year (€450
    • Combined Car RĂ© + Bus YĂ©lo passes are also available for a month (€58) or year (€420 / €282.50 for young people under 28).

    Credit cards are accepted, but it is advisable to have the exact change in case the machine is not working or there is a change of bus. You can download the Ticket Modalis app to purchase bus passes in advance.

  • People with reduced mobility

    People with reduced mobility and any accompanying person have priority when boarding.

  • Luggage and items in the hold

    Pushchairs, scooters, electric scooters, bicycles, windsurfing boards, surfboards, snowboards and skis are only accepted in the hold under the following conditions:

    • The bus is equipped to take them
    • Space is available
    • Any electric batteries have been removed beforehand
    • Any engines have been switched off and secured
  • Pets

    Pets are not permitted on board, with the exception of guide dogs on a lead. Small pets in a basket or pet carrier are tolerated.

The service is free and available all year round on bus route 150. Check the timetable linked above for stops marked with a ‘bus carrying a bicycle’ symbol.

Booking is essential and must be made no later than the previous day before 5pm. See booking instructions at the bottom of the timetable to book either online, on the CarVélo app or by telephone.

 Getting around La Rochelle – Illico bus routes 1 to 4

In La Rochelle: use the Illico bus network (routes 1-4) to get to Place de Verdun and around the city. Use the timetables linked below, depending on your connecting stop with bus route 150.

  • Gare routiĂšre (SNCF train station): take Illico route 1 or 2 to get to Place de Verdun
  • 11 novembre 1918, take Illico route 3 to Place de Verdun,
  • LALEU AĂ©roport ILLICO, take Illico route 1 to Place de Verdun
  • Beauregard, take Illico route 4 (from the Cognehors stop), which will take you to the Dames Blanches stop.

Village shuttles and bridge shuttles

Frequently asked questions

Pushchairs and similar equipment for young children are permitted, provided they are folded during busy periods.
All shuttles are accessible for passengers with reduced mobility, and equipped either with a ramp or a powered lift and designated space for a wheelchair. Those with designated space for a wheelchair can be identified by the blue wheelchair symbol on the front of the shuttle.
Animals are not permitted, with the exception of small pets. Guide dogs for the blind and hearing impaired are permitted if kept on a lead. Small pets must be carried in a basket, bag or pet carrier (maximum 45 cm), and kept on their owner’s lap so as not to disturb other passengers.
Bicycles and water sports equipment are not permitted on the shuttles (surfboards, windsurfing boards, wakeboards, kiteboards).

Shuttles on demand

The RespiRĂ© on-demand shuttles are a free local service, ideal for doing your shopping, and attending medical or administrative appointments.

Open to everyone, the service picks you up from home and drops you off at one of the 28 designated stops.

It is available from Monday to Friday, from 9am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 5pm (excluding public holidays). In July and August: it only runs in the morning, from 9am to 12.30pm.

In keeping with our commitment to protect the environment, this local service uses clean-energy vehicles funded entirely by revenue from the Île de RĂ© bridge toll.
